Installation

MXZ-1 friction coefficient tester, as a precision measuring device, requires careful installation, adjustment and clean working environment, to guarantee testing accuracy and normal operation.

5.1 before unpacking, please check first to see if the package is in good condition. Then open the case, refer to the packing list, check if the device and accessories are complete, and then take out the device carefully;

5.2 put the device in a stable platform, adjust the adjusting nut below the main frame, make the level bubble in the middle;

5.3 plug the power line in a three-pin socket, turn on power switch, then it is ready for testing.

4. Usage and operation

Thin film(slice ) to thin film (slice)

6.1 make one specimen’s surface upward, then fix it flat on the level test bench; make sure the sample is parallel to the length direction of the test bench;

6.2 make the other specimen’s surface downward to wrap the slider, fix the specimen to the front side and upper surface of the slider with adhesive tape;

6.3 put the slider with fixed specimen(6.2) on the center part of the first specimen(6.1); make sure the testing direction is parallel to the slider and the force measuring system is not affected by force;

6.4 the first peak value of the force is static friction force (Fs); the average force (not including the static friction force) caused by relative motion of the two specimens within 60mm is dynamic friction force(Fd);

6.5 if the force value is unstable after static friction force appears, the dynamic friction force might not be correct. In this case, take out the spring between the slider and the load sensor, and measure the dynamic friction force separately.

Thin film (slice) to other materials

When testing the friction force between plastic film (slice) and other material surface, users should fix the plastic film(slice) on the slider and fix the other material specimen on the level test bench. And then repeat the procedures as above (from 6.1 to 6.5)
